Trust and output notes

Use this quick checklist before replacing an important PDF.

What stays local

Your selected PDF is handled in this browser session. BQ PDF Tools does not add your document to the offline cache or upload it to an application server.

What this tool preserves

  • Reports are generated locally as previewable text or CSV.
  • The tool does not open extracted links or contact external services.
  • The selected document is only read inside this browser.

What to check

Reports describe what the browser PDF parser can read. Scanned pages, flattened links, or hidden structures may not be fully detected.

Practical examples

Example 1

What this tool does

The inspector reads text items from each page and groups their font references into a downloadable CSV report. Subset prefixes and embedded font names may differ from the names shown in design software.

Privacy note: selected files are handled by JavaScript running on your device. The application does not intentionally transfer document contents to a BQ server. Browser extensions, managed-device policies, and the browser itself remain outside the site’s control.

Compatibility note: PDF is a complex format. Very large, encrypted, malformed, digitally signed, or unusually constructed files may not process correctly. Keep the original document until you have checked the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does this extract font files?

No. It reports detected font references and usage only.

Why do some names contain random letters?

Embedded subset fonts often use generated prefixes such as ABCDEF+FontName.

Will scanned pages show fonts?

No. Image-only scans contain pixels rather than selectable PDF text.
