Trust and output notes

Use this quick checklist before replacing an important PDF.

What stays local

Your selected PDF is handled in this browser session. BQ PDF Tools does not add your document to the offline cache or upload it to an application server.

What this tool preserves

  • Reports are generated locally as previewable text or CSV.
  • The tool does not open extracted links or contact external services.
  • The selected document is only read inside this browser.

What to check

Reports describe what the browser PDF parser can read. Scanned pages, flattened links, or hidden structures may not be fully detected.

Practical examples

Example 1

Check page sizes before printing.

Example 2

List links before publishing a guide.

Example 3

How to pdf color analyzer

Step 1

Choose a PDF.

Step 2

Select fast or detailed sampling and the white threshold.

Step 3

Create the report and review colour classification and estimated coverage.

What this tool does

The analyzer renders small local previews, samples page pixels, estimates non-white coverage and colour-pixel share, then creates a CSV report. Results are estimates rather than press-calibrated measurements.

Privacy note: selected files are handled by JavaScript running on your device. The application does not intentionally transfer document contents to a BQ server. Browser extensions, managed-device policies, and the browser itself remain outside the site’s control.

Compatibility note: PDF is a complex format. Very large, encrypted, malformed, digitally signed, or unusually constructed files may not process correctly. Keep the original document until you have checked the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does this measure professional ink coverage?

No. It is a browser-based pixel estimate, not a calibrated CMYK prepress measurement.

Does the tool modify the PDF?

No. It only creates a separate CSV report.

Why can a page with one small logo be marked colour?

Any meaningful coloured pixels can classify a page as colour even when most of it is grayscale.
