What stays local

Your selected PDF is handled in this browser session. BQ PDF Tools does not add your document to the offline cache or upload it to an application server.

What this tool preserves

  • Reports are generated locally as previewable text or CSV.
  • The tool does not open extracted links or contact external services.
  • The selected document is only read inside this browser.

What to check

Reports describe what the browser PDF parser can read. Scanned pages, flattened links, or hidden structures may not be fully detected.

Example 1

Check page sizes before printing.

Example 2

List links before publishing a guide.

Example 3

Audit fonts and colour pages before distribution.

Choose a PDF.

Step 2

Choose whether to include internal destinations and remove duplicates.

Step 3

Create and download the link report.

What this tool does

The tool reads PDF link annotations page by page and creates a CSV containing external URLs and, optionally, internal destinations. It does not crawl or verify the destination websites.

Privacy note: selected files are handled by JavaScript running on your device. The application does not intentionally transfer document contents to a BQ server. Browser extensions, managed-device policies, and the browser itself remain outside the site’s control.

Compatibility note: PDF is a complex format. Very large, encrypted, malformed, digitally signed, or unusually constructed files may not process correctly. Keep the original document until you have checked the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool visit extracted websites?

No. It reads link annotations only and makes no requests to destination URLs.

Are plain-text URLs always detected?

Only links stored as PDF annotations are reliably reported. Visible text without a link annotation may not appear.

Can internal page links be included?

Yes. Enable internal destinations before creating the report.
